Mr. McMahon primarily focuses his practice on matters involving
privately owned businesses and business owners. Mr. McMahon is
experienced in all aspects of the "business cycle." This includes the
formation and dissolution of business entities; mergers or acquisitions of businesses;
shareholder/member relations; commercial real estate transactions; human
resource issues; government agency representation; the creation or
review of any transactional documents used in the ordinary course of
business; and, commercial litigation if necessary. In addition,
Mr. McMahon counsels the law firm's business owners in matters of
business succession planning, business exit planning and estate planning
to protect family owned businesses and to minimize or defer the effect
of the federal death tax.
Mr. McMahon's practice also includes general estate planning, probate &
trust administration and probate litigation.

Mr. McMahon is involved in a number of local
not-for-profit organizations including: The
American Red Cross, Berrien
County Chapter (member of board of directors, executive committee
and Vice Chair, 1998-2004);
Junior
Achievement of Michiana (board of directors, executive committee,
Board Chair,1999-2006);
Harbor
Habitat for Humanity, Inc. (general counsel, 2000-2006, Financial
Oversight Committee, 2000-present); and the
Krasl Art Foundation
(board of directors, 2007-present). In 2002 Mr. McMahon was a
Margaret B. Upton Volunteer Leadership Award Nominee.
