Brian P. McMahon is a partner in the
law firm of TROFF, PETKZE & AMMESON and has been representing
privately-owned businesses, business owners and business owners' families for
more than 18 years. His clients include local, state, foreign
(out-of-state) entities and out-of-state residents with interests in Michigan.
Mr. McMahon also works with numerous Chicago law firms that represent clients
with a specific transactional need in Michigan and/or a desire to establish a
relationship with Michigan legal counsel in the event of need on short notice.
Mr. McMahon routinely represents
clients at all stages in the "business cycle" including:

● The dissolution of business entities.
● Mergers or acquisitions of businesses.
● Shareholder/member
relations.
● Shareholder/member disputes.

minimize or defer the effect of the federal death tax. Mr. McMahon's practice also includes
estate planning for individuals/couples with $500,000 or more in assets, probate &
trust administration and probate litigation.

McMahon is involved in a number of local nonprofit organizations
including: The
American Red Cross, Berrien County Chapter (board of directors,
executive committee and vice chair, 1998-2004);
Junior Achievement of Michiana (board of directors, executive
committee, board chair,1999-2006);
Harbor Habitat for Humanity, Inc. (general counsel, 2000-2006,
Financial Oversight Committee, 2000-present); the
Krasl Art Foundation (board of directors, 2007-present); a member of the board of directors of
Legal Aid of Western Michigan, (Audit Committee, Chair,
2007-present), a member of the advisory counsel for Cornerstone Alliance
Women's Business Center, (2009-present), and a member of the
board of directors of the
Harbor Country
Chamber of Commerce(economic development committee,
2009-present);
and,
The
Readiness Center, Inc. (board of directors, executive committee and
treasurer, 2009-present). In 2002 Mr. McMahon was a
Margaret B. Upton Volunteer Leadership Award Nominee.
